We provide consistent individual habit training, independent living skills, Generic skills like self-help skills, communication, social behavior, functional academics, safety skills, domestic behavior, motor skills and vocational skills. Job skill training for high functioning residents.
We provide the opportunity for the persons with mild to moderate mentally challenges to interact with normal persons and this in turns leads them to have good role models and an environment to learn social and life skills with educational and recreational activities
We will create an admirable living environment, including a social family-like atmosphere and active lifestyle for all of our residents.
Helping individuals heal, energize, and become aware of their inner strengths. We achieve this by providing a neutral safe space, listening to your concerns, and customizing a treatment plan.
We promise to be there every step of our residents journey. Our goal is to help our residents grow from their struggles, and live to their fullest potential , and move forward to where they want to be in their lives. To meet their social, physical, mental, educational, vocational, and recreational needs
Through counseling and treatment, we are able to help our residents recover motivation to live to their fullest potential.
There is no standard profile of a person with Down Syndrome. Most people with Down Syndrome have mild to moderate mental impairments. Many people with Down Syndrome can lead productive and satisfying lives in their communities (Easter Seals, 2008, Resource section).
Mental retardation is a complex condition, which may be caused by the interaction of many factors. In about 75 percent of cases, the exact cause is never known. Causes of mental retardation include defects in the genes * or chromosomes * , injuries or conditions that develop while a fetus * is developing in the womb, diseases of early childhood, and environmental influences. The three major causes of mental retardation are Down syndrome, fetal alcohol syndrome, and fragile X.
This is commonest type of mental retardation accounting for 85%-90% of all cases. These individuals have minimum retardation in sensory-motor areas.
About 105 of mentally retarded come under this group.
